I joined La Trobe University as a Computer Science Lecturer in Feb of 2018.

I received my dual PhD degree (Machine Learning and Data Mining) at the University of Technology Sydney in Australia and Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China in 2015.

I joined La Trobe after almost three years at IBM Research Australia where I was working as a Postdoc on Watson Education and Health.

Before I joined IBM Research Australia, I was a Data Specialist at University of New South Wales (UNSW) and a Visiting Researcher at University of Technology Sydney (UTS).

Some of my received awards: "Best Paper Award in PAKDD13", "Top 200 Young Researchers Globally and Romberg Grant Award by HLF16", “Young Global Changer by G20/T20 Germany”, "IBM External Honors", etc.

My main research interest is in making sense of big data with effective, agile and interactive data analytics, especially in Health care area. Currently, I am working on AI on Autism Screening.

30/05/2019: I co-authored a conference paper Improving Multi-Label Chest X-ray Disease Diagnosis by exploiting disease and health labels dependencies which was accepted by The 4th International Symposium on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics 2019.
25/03/2019: I co-authored a conference paper Autism Screening using Deep Embedding Representation which was accepted by INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON COMPUTATIONAL SCIENCE.
14/01/2019: I was invited to give a seminar talk "Real-time Classification of Big Data Stream through Hashing Techniques" at School of Computer Science, Wuhan University.
22/10/2018: I was invited to give a keynote talk "Making sense of big data in healthcare with effective and interactive analysis" at Health Data Analytics 2018.
01/06/2018: I started to visit Gehlenborg Lab of Harvard Medical School in Boston for 5 weeks.
26/02/2018: I joined La Trobe University as a lecturer.
02/02/2018: I was invited to give a talk "Real-time Classification of Big Data Stream through Hashing Techniques" at the Center of Artificial intelligence in University of Technology Sydney.
27/11/2017: I was invited to attend 2017 East Lake International Forum for Outstanding Overseas Young Scholars.
19/11/2017: I was invited to join the Program Committee of IJCAI-ECAI-2018 (PIC Top-Quality conference in Artificial Intelligence).

19-20/08/2017: I co-organised the conference AusDM 2017, which was co-located with IJCAI 2017 in Melbourne.
26/07/2017: I got my third patent filed SYBIL IDENTIFICATION MECHANISM FOR FRAUDULENT DOCUMENT DETECTION THROUGH A COGNITIVE BASED PERSONAL ENCRYPTION KEY.
11/07/2017: I was awarded the certificate of participation from Think Summit GLOBAL SOLUTIONS.
28/05/2017: I attended Think Summit GLOBAL SOLUTIONS as a Young Global Changer in Berlin, Gemany.
10/05/2017: I co-authored a journal paper Hashing for Adaptive Real-Time Graph Stream Classification With Concept Drifts which was accepted by IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics.
27/04/2017: I was selected as one of 100 outstanding Young Global Changers to attend the Think 20 Summit – GLOBAL SOLUTIONS.
20/03/2017: I was invited as Program Chair for the Applications Track of AusDM 2017.
14/01/2017: I got my second patent filed SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR UNSTRUCTURED METADATA CORRELATION.
04/01/2017: I co-authored a paper Hashing Techniques: A Survey and Taxonomy which was accepted by ACM Computing Surveys.
11/12/2016: I attended COLING 2016 and presented the poster Geolocation Prediction in Twitter Using Location Indicative Words and Textual Features in the workshop W-NUT 2016 in Osaka, Japan.
